I am planning on flashing Xiaomi.eu ROM on my Xiaomi 13 Ultra China Model but I also want to flash Global ROM which would guarantee me to be able to get 5G networks due to carriers in Malaysia being able to but then I would lose OTA updates.

My question here is that would I be able to get 5G in Malaysia on my Chinese Xiaomi 13 Ultra with the Xiaomi.EU ROM of not at all? (Because for original China ROM the hardware supports 5G in Malaysia but the software doesnt.) And also if it does ot doesnt please explain to me. Thanks!

Installing the Xiaomi.eu or the global ROM won't improve the modem, unless the providers have specific rules limiting the Chinese ROM.

well yeah it wont improve the modems as they are a part of the hardware but I wonder if the Xiaomi.EU like 'Allows' the modems to be able to connect to 5G in Malaysia.

I meant it on the software side, obviously the hardware won't change.

Xiaomi.eu doesn't modify the way the modem works. And installing a global ROM won't unlock the bands that are not enabled in the modem.

since that is the current case then what can I do on Xiaomi.eu ROM to be able to use 5G in Malaysia? (As the Xiaomi 13 Ultra does have the 5G bands for Malaysia but simply wont use it because the software cannot see them and sticks to 4G or 4G+.)

What bands does your provider use?
Xiaomi 13 Ultra - Supported 5G bands. (HW limited)
1, 3, 5, 7, 8, 20, 28, 38, 40, 41, 77, 78, 79 SA/NSA - International devices
1, 3, 5, 8, 28, 38, 40, 41, 77, 78, 79 SA/NSA - China devices

n78, n28 and n257 which is from CelcomDigi, I use it but yet I only get 4G and 4G+ right now on China ROM and I want to flash to Xiaomi.EU or Global ROM soon, how would it be if I flash on either of them?

Our ROM for Xiaomi 13 Ultra is based on China ROM and has stock modem image.
If you can always try to flash modem image from Global ROM, but if the Chinese hardware itself has the 5G bands you need disabled - you won't be getting 5G, that's not ROM or firmware-related.

Perhaps it's better to flash Malaysia ROM to get 5G instead of global rom afterall 13 Ultra was officially launched in Malaysia.
