Xiaomi Mi4c 'this Acccount May Be Associated With Existing Mi Account'

There may already be a post on this, however I am unable to find it.

My problem:

I did a factory reset on my phone, however when i turn the phone back on and try to connect to the internet the phone suddenly blocks with the message: "
This device may be associated with existing Mi account please login to activate the device"

I'm wondering what I should do? Are there any decent step by step flashing tutorials?


I bought the phone new on eBay from a Chinese manufacturer.

Thanks for your reply.

However my micloud doesn't detect any devices and i need to be signed in to Micloud on my phone for it to detect it.

However I can;t sign in to the micloud on the phone because if i try to connect to the internet, the phone blocks.

Any other suggestions??
