As promised the Latest Version is now available. There is an extra feature this week but only in the Overscroll Version as it involved changing the framework.jar. It's the ICS feature for removing individual notifications. Hope you like it..
am I grabbing the zip from the wrong place? the 2.3.2 overscroll v1 doesn't contain framework jar?

EDIT: nevermind - redownloaded and it's there.

Hi
Try re-downloading the over scroll zip and flashing again.
Also, wipe the dalvik cache.

Let me know how that goes.

Andy
Thanks Andy, re-downloading did the trick. I always wipe cache partition and dalvik cache as I have used CM7, they are big on it and it seems like a good idea.

No FC any more, which is great. Swipe away notifications works as expected except that download notifications just will not stay away and after a few mins re-appears. I have uploaded a logcat to https://y42.biz/2012-03-05-10-29-28.txt which mentions if it helps. So far it is the only notification that does not behave as expected.

R,

What does overscroll mean ? And do? #Noob
Hi, you know how when you scroll to the end of a field, by default in MIUI the edge glows orange. With overscroll you can pull past the edge of a scroll and it shows a gap and springs back. hence the name over scroll. It is just a different/additional visual effect when scrolling in apps/lists etc and hitting the end.

OH, I see Thanks for the reply.

Hmm, I have the 2.3.2 build for my Nexus S (ICS) which one do I need? None of them seem to be working :(

For those with Android version 2.3.7 Build number 2.3.9. use MIUI-MODS 2.2.24 zip by Kunon. Its flawless.:)

Yesterday i have made a new package of Andy's modifications to MIUI version 2.3.9, if You like to use it, here's the LINK.

Package includes: Extended Settings, modified Launcher, Volume +, 4wayreboot, T9 multilingual search, ICS transition animation, ICS notifications slide-off, overscroll.

Additionally, for Samsung's phones users (SGS, SGS2), the package that includes also a basic Touchwiz framework and SamsungApps market. HERE YOU GO

Of course, previous package with 2.3.2 mods also will work on 2.3.9 but does not include amendments made by Xiaomi in the new version, including a repaired error with the display of the operator logo on some phones and few minor fixes in .smali files.

Above packages contain all the fixes currently implemented by MIUI team.

Kunon, just flashed on an HTC Glacier. ICS transitions didn't seem to make it over. Also, the ICS notification slide-off is still very difficult to use. It would be cool to see ICS rotation animation too. If this stuff was fixed, this would be the best mod evar!

Working great for MIUI 2.3.9 for Desire! Thanks.

better question, why can we create a version that will work with any MIUI version!?! Cyanogen has that...

can someone help me ? everytime i try to flash the package i get installation aborted status 7 ? i'm using htc evo 3d miui-112230 and android 2.3.7

I'm wondering if this could be made as a patch, so it wouldn't overwrite system files completely. Like official MIUI's ota patches, would this be possible? This would also mean that if anyone has modified system files, not identical to Miuiandroids, these wouldn't be replaced and people would loose languages and other mods..

Just a thought.. :)

I'm sorry, but I can not reproduce this error on my phone. Perhaps this is the lockscreen or theme fault. Check that the default theme also have this problem. If not try to logcat this problem after unlocking.

any idea for 2.3.9?!? Did Andy quit?!
Look a few comments above regarding the answer to your question about the 2.3.9 mod. Andy is working hard to port MIUI v4. He can prepare his own version of this mod, but maybe not. Until then, you can use my version. It is based on Andys work and are not significantly different.

Because there are changes almost in every MIUI version in files where modifications are injected. In case of implementing some fixes by Xiaomi in frameworks or .apk's, we need to modify them after ROM deodexing and properly recompile one more time. CM is not changing framework in every week. MIUI mods are often ported from Cyanogenmod github but some of them, like eg ICS fancy rotation animation need to modify dozen (sic!) of .smali java files and this is pointless to do for every MIUI update. Especially since this particular mod can cause stability issues and bugs with displaying launcher and applications elements.

If there will be a stable version of GB MIUI (if ever) than we can concern a possibility to make Final Ultimate MIUI Mod. But until that time... take it, or leave it.

Mods are installed using the siam script (also supports EVO 3D) but in some cases (on some partition layouts) it might not work properly. Before installing, you may manually mount the system partition and then try to reinstall package.

I'm wondering if this could be made as a patch, so it wouldn't overwrite system files completely. Like official MIUI's ota patches, would this be possible?

We looked at this more than once :)

That would be the best solution. The XIAOMI team uses a great OTA update mechanism that allows the modification of binary files. In this way, the update can only contain fixes, and not whole files and OTA has only a few megabytes instead of dozens, or hundreds of megabytes as in the case of the deodexed roms of the rest of the world (UK, US, DE, CZ, AU, etc.).

But first, I know of no developer who has mastered the mechanism of OTA (the Chinese do not provide sources). Second, even if someone is know how to use it properly, due to rom deodexing the files size is changing each time (because of the different decompile and compile options, eg. compression) and binary OTA mechanism can not be used (From what I know, he uses the injection of code into a specific hex address.)

However, if you have any useful information about the original Xiaomi OTA system - let me know.

I love you!!...no homo :L

How long can you keep this going? I'll donate if you open a paypal :)

This has to be the most amazing mod ever made for miui!

I'm making this package every week. If I cannot prepare it, than You may always look at the miuipolska.pl where Acid from MIUIPOLSKA TEAM will create it. If You really like this mod, you may donate them HERE.

I myself do not accept a grant for this work. Sure, I prepare them, but compilation of mods is Acid's idea.
here you go - every week updates:

Ota updates are easy (I did them for a while), only problem I had was the incessant complaints from people who flash stuff like extended settings or modify anything on the system. This breaks any patch ota, because the checksum has to match what's expected. 5mb updates was good, people not reading and understanding that it fails when they change stuff made it more hassle then its worth (to me).

Modifications from version 2.3.9 will work fine on 2.3.16. There have been no significant changes in the modified files. There was only a cosmetic change in framework.jar, which practically does not affect the system for us (only for Chinese).
