Hi i have a Mi-2 32 GB model from ShenZen Funtek Co. Ltd also from aliexpress.

I did the quick system info app test and all seems fine, but my battery life is terrible.

I have gps, wifi, bluetooth, autosync all off and brightness is at zero and still i get rapid battery drain. Deep sleep seems fine its just when i am using the handset.

I see jumps from say fully charged 100% to 97% after 5 mins then after 10 minutes its down to 93%.

What should i do, do i have a fake Mi-2, please someone help me.

Ps im in Lonndon, UK.

instal ''quick system info pro'' open the app scroll down... click on ''view properties'' then click on ''device'' make and printscreen and post it here.

Hi, thanks for the replies here is a screenshot, can someone let me know if I have a real or sadly fake Mi-2.

Also for the life of me i dont understand why I get such high battery drain.

Seems legit, and mine having the same issue as well.. battery drain might be due to 3G network from what I found. If I switched to 2G only, the battery seems normal and lasts longer..

You have a real Mi-2 :) But i don't know about the battery life. are you using the stable 7.0?

Little question, when you look at the usage history of your battery, is there an application that could drain your battery life ? Had this problem this night, McDonald's application (no comment please) drained my battery..

Yaaay I have a real Mi - 2 thanks guys !

Now for the battery issue. Hmm it could be a rouge app, I will download betterbatterystats app and see.

Also I took a screenshot of my ROM, though I'm not sure if that's the stable 7.0 ROM Sander you were asking about.

Lastly, if I update to the latest weekly ROM, do i just rename the downloaded zip to update.zip and install it. Do I lose all my apps and data, sms, game data etc or is the ROM just flashed and all data apps kept intact. Also does the battery life improve each update?

Sorry for the masses of questions.

you can use the backup. But you can go to your ''updater'' then you can press the menu buttom. you will see download latest full rom. that is a option, but first make a printscreen of your battery use. ''settings'' ''battery'' ''battery use'' . maybe there is an app that drains the battery. EDIT: my mistake you have the weekly build.

I'll download the new / latest weekly build. Hopefully that will improve my battery life. Also screenshots of battery. Weird thing is that battery graph doesn't reset when I do a new full charge as you can see in the pics.

How much talk time do you get? And this graph reset when you full charge or at least 90%

The huge battery drains don't line up with your poor signal times... to me it looks like you have problem apps or problem ROM.

I don't have a true apples-to-apples comparison here, but I had terrible battery drain when running MIUIAndroid's 3.1.11 with WiFi off and some backgrounded apps. It may be a complete coincidence (due to different running apps and WiFi on) that I had excellent battery standby on JLB 7.0 Stable.

January 12 - MIUIAndroid 3.1.11
January 14 - JLB 7.0 Stable

(January 12's photos were on an AT&T MicroCell, 100% sure because AT&T signal doesn't reach this room. Don't know why MIUIAndroid doesn't say "MicroCell" like other phones.)

so you're saying the jellybean 4.1.1 from xiaomi is much better with battery drain than the miui android rom 3.1.11?

Like I said, it's not an equal comparison (apps and wifi). MIUI JLB 7.0 Stable is a week or 2 older build than MIUI 3.1.11. I'm just offering my experience, if you want to try something. (But note it's pretty painful to downgrade because some phone Sqlite database will be a higher version number, which will cause constant crash popups. not sure if wiping data first would fix it.)

Well, I will stick to miui at first, its much nicer :)
and its a built in rom, it should perform better than on other machines.
but...im still waiting for the shipment so its a different issue right now :)

I have also terrible battery life, but when i have bad signa. I use this trick:
a) battery set on performance
b) change governor set on interactive (i use for example set cpu)
c) change min freq and max freq
In this configuration, little better

my batt. life is terrible as well...
power state is normal mode, but after 2hours where i barely used the phone, just 10mins call & 15mins of screen on (auto brightness) i have 86%..
msm_hsic_host is a big kernel wakelock - 13mins,also radio-interface (6mins) and PowerManagerService (2mins)
any offers how to improve it?

I feel like a huge battery drain when using the phone (Web browsing, emails for the most part).

I got a couple of times an overheating phone when playing (not huge games, low graphic power needed), I had to restart my Mi2. The last time I got this problem, it was with the previous rom 3.1.11 but I haven't play that much lately.

The phone seems to do really ok when it's idle.

i previously had S2 + Anker 1900mah batt., it was terrific, without touching the phone battery wouldnt train, but here it keep on going..now after 7 hours of work, 15mins of calls, and 30mins screen already 70%
the usage should take more than 15% at best :\
or atleast so it was with the S2.
I have alot of kernel wakelocks. application wakelocks i barely have.

Well, I got like 12% used with 30 mins screen on (50% brightness), a couple of sms, over 3h with wifi and 10 mins of music.
I'm connected to my 3G network (I used to switch to my 2G network on my old phones).

So far so good while it's mainly idle but I think, sometimes the S4 Pro is over consuming energy in some cases while we don't need that much horse power.

Did you try to switch to power saving mode?

i did, it helps..a little
i dont like it, as the phone hangs sometimes, like whatsup scrolling of emoji icons, or it feels just a little slower..so i use normal mode
im on 3g all the time, but i was so also with me s2 in my comparison of batt. life

A lot of people who's battery don't make it through one 1 day without high usage have this bug:
It apears to be the problem of Mi2 phone vs the simcard that you use. On tweakers.net they did battery tests with 2 simcards and these were the results:
* Vodafone simcard: 25 hours (on medium-low usage)
* KPN simcard: 114 hours on low usage

Check what your phone does with another simcard is what i suggest. If it's battery doesn't drain like before (with your current simcard), you know connection to you provider's network is causing the battery drainage.

well, its sad if thats true
my signal is mostly OK, battery graph shows mostly green,
but its not like i can move to another carrier..its a bad solution :(
