Hi all,

from what I read in the forum regarding battery life issues it seams that battery life is better on JLB(Native) instead on MIUIandroid ....!!!???

Has anyone done a proper test on this subject???

I havent received my device yet otherwise I would have done it hence the reason I am asking...

Any views...??? Anyone...

I can't say 2 much about this since i have not used JLB10 for more then a few hours but i can say that with MIUIandroid rom my battery is normally still at around 30% at the end of my day with WIFI on and connected most of the day and bluetooth on and streaming audio for about 1 hour or so. I send and receive about 15-20 txt's in the run of the day. I don't play much games. All in all i can't complain.

My last charge.

Power saving mode
2G instead of 3G
auto bright

1d 6h 30minutes
1h40´of screen...

I dont know if this is good or bad, but im quite happy with the fact that i can have the phone "alive" for more almost 30 hours.

Battery life has been average to acceptable on mine, nothing spectacular. Although in all likelihood, I'm a heavy user. My phone is about to die now and I'm at a little over 8 hrs (3h15m on screen time).

With the 3120 mAh battery I can do 6+ straight hours of on screen time. That's with mainly Wi-Fi on.

same for you, thanks for reply!

running JBN or MIUI?

From memory, I believe I was around 16+ hr (4+ hr on screen) with the larger battery on my last charge.

Oh yeah, mainly on Normal Performance, above average brightness, then I switch to Power Saving to eek out as much as I can.

That includes about 30-40 mins of 3g audio streaming as I drove to and from work.

Using JLB 7.0 with 2G only, and on and off WiFi usage.. I managed a 4 hours+ screen time.. The battery lasted for 1 day 12 hours+ with 9% remaining. Previously on MIUIAndroid, I only managed 2 hours+ screen time and battery lasted for around 9 hours+ with 2-3% remaining. I'm using the standard battery.. not the 3100mAh one..

Wow, that's tremendous! I might have to give JLB a shot, especially since I'm experiencing periodic reboots with MIUI Android every couple of days.

Aside from the battery life, which rom do you find performs better? I'll admit, I've fallen in love with MIUI (save for the random reboots), not the launcher though, which I replaced.

Can somebody explain the difference between jbl and miuiandroid rom? Where to get jbl? Is jbl official miui from their site?

Thanks for your reply mate! I just downloaded JLB10 and from what you are saying guys it seems indeed battery life is much better on JLB instead of MIUI!

As I gonna cycle to work and back -thats 1hr screen time +sports tracker running +1hr bluetooth music streaming and thats each direction! plus I keep my phone always fully synced with Outlook, gmail, 2 yahoo accs and live mail, screen always on Max brightness,3g always on, gps for few hrs (I need it for sports tracker app) and add up my 12hr shifts ... it make sense I purchased the extra large battery that comes with it...:)))

About MIUI - well looks cool but since I have never used his Roms I would not know what I am missing and will be just fine with JLB! May be this is something MIUI can look into (improve battery live ) in his future Updated Rom Releases!

P.S. I waiting for device to be delivered - cant wait...

Well , they are both JLB android 4.1 but MIUI is a twicked version ''iphone'' style user interface where JLB10 is the latest STABLE official release from Xiaomi .JLB10 is pure/standard Android ROM 4.1

One of the main differences is that MIUI doesnt have App tray (like iphone, all apps on screen)

If you wanna try it out - JLB10 download links below :

Actually, that question was directed at Melvyn Ong since he's had experience with both.

I just tried flashing JLB 10.0 via the Updater app and it went through, but it was weird because I couldn't launch settings or the Updater app once JLB 10.0 loaded up for some reason. I saw someone had success flashing it via MiFlash so I was thinking of trying that next.

I've yet to try JLB 10.0.. this is because I've read some feedbacks regarding the battery drain issue exists in the 10.0 version as well. I was initially on MIUIAndroid 3.1.11 and my phone heats up like a hot candy brick, coupled with the battery drain issue.. I used MiFlash to wipe and install JLB 7.0, rooted it.. no more issues after that.

Correction: It's not just Settings and the Updater app that won't launch. None of the pre-installed apps with JLB 10.0 or 7.0 will launch after flashing either rom with the Updater app.

I'll try the MiFlash method tomorrow. I've already downloaded one of the necessary files, but the second fastboot file is being flagged as a threat by my computer's security software 0.O

Will look into that later.

The fastboot file was flagged as a potential threat by Microsoft Security essentials on my system as well. No issues with it tho it flashes no problem with Miflash.

Thanks for the heads up, grondinm, I figured it was fine ;)

Are you planning to flash JBL 7 or JBL 10? Either way, let me know how it goes. I've really come to like MIUI, but would consider a return to stock if I can push my battery life a bit.

I'm thinking I'll try 7.0 first since Melvyn Ong mentioned earlier in this thread he was getting killer numbers with it. I'm sure 10.0 will have similar battery life, but I want to test out a known quantity first.

I've been on MIUI Android long enough to know what kind of juice I can squeeze out of it, and while I've grown to love it, I have had a couple of random reboots, so that's another reason to switch.

Oh hah, I thought JLB stood for JellyBean, like stock Android, didn't realize it was another MIUI rom.

Anyway, I ended up flashing JLB1o.0 (via the MiFlash method) since I couldn't find the JLB7.0 fast boot file (yet). I figure since I'm already here, I might as well test it out thoroughly to see how battery life is. We'll see how it compares to the stats I had for MIUI Android.

JLB is not stock Android, it's official MIUI. MIUIandroid is an unofficial MIUI.
