I do not have this issue with miui mail app. Did you try to clear app data?
Other possible solution what you should try: if you are using different theme than the default, set back to default theme and try again mail app behavior. Trust me...

I had cleared the cache, cleared the data and what worked was reinstalling the older mail app.
I am using the standard theme, but haven't tried to change it and put it back.

If you are on the default theme, then no need to change and set it back to default. It won't help, but sometimes if you use different theme than default, it can be cause very strange behavior on mi2s.
My only problem with miui mail app that cannot open mails from notification. Other mail functions working well for me...

@graw2 : Are you still able to enter your email address somewhere in the settings ? Is your login name the same as your email address ?
 
Yes of course, I am able to enter email address in menu settings. My account name same as my email adress.
I set everything in mail app when I bought the phone (1 year ago) since then I am using mail app very often (every day) without issue (expect open mail from notification).
FYI: I have t-online email address

@graw2 : Ah, thanks. I guess you enter your email address just in the field "login". That explains it ... I'm 100% sure now it's a bug then :-( There is a difference between "email address" and "login".

With my gmail it works as well ( the login is the same as my email address ). But my main email address has another login than my email address (like, my email addres is user@domain.com, login is user1234). The mail app tries to send from the "email address" user1234 instead from user@domain.com, and fails.

I tried the previous rom now as well, there is no explicit option to enter an email address, but when you created the email address, you could change the username. When you do this now, your account wil show "user1234" instead of the email address.

Strange though that nobody notices this. Hopefully it gets fixed soon... I guess most users are just only using gmail ...

do i need to root and install manually?

I used my hotmail addresses for the email app. I used my gmail accounts with the gmail app.
I never use my login name, only full email addresses.

People of the forum i have a problem with the rom for the s4 lte version. I had a issue with the bluettoth. when my phone is paired with the hands free of my car using the custon rom of wanamlite the connection is perfect i can hear music and make calls; but when i install a miui rom i had a lot of problems with the hands free. First, i cant access to my phonebook and the other problem is after 20-30 seconds my phone disconnect form the hands free and reconnect immediately and the disconnect ( for this issue i found a solution i finish the task bluetoothPbapservice and it stay connected but the problem is i cant access to my phonebook via the handsfree interface if i need to call i need to dial via my cellphone and when someone is calling me only the numbers apperas not the name).
Some people say its my baseband and my modem that i need the ZHUMF4 but i cant install the modem via odin (see pics for detail information) from sammobile i downloaded the firmware from honk kong but it didnt install it via ODIN. the only way for me to change the modem is using the original FW from my carrier. And because of this i cant get the wifi working, only works if i use a custom kernel like adamkernel or abysskernel.
I had tried a lot of methods but none of them give me a solution to the bluetooh handsfree issue.
i tried to install the rom with:
TWRP
CWM
Philz recovery

**my cellphoe is from the carrier Telcel so is a I337m variant but the i337m variant and the i9505 variant are the same according to the forums ( and is correct because i can use the stock firmware from the i9505 variant installing via odin and use the stock FW designed for the i337 variants and therefore the wanamlite custom roms is for the i9505 and works in a prefect harmony with my cellphone

Still problem - no root after flashing last 3 releases

s2 i9100 - tested on 3 devices now - same problem.

i've always used default theme, but i reapplied it anyway. it doesnt seem like the behavior changed. i will comment that the internal storage is quite low, i have less than 400MB free (out of ~4GB). maybe thats why its slow? quite annoying, as i dont think i have that many apps installed...

Hi, and to REDMI 1 wcdma (not 1s), friday there will also be launching new multilingual ROM?
For the multilingual ROM 13.0, outdated, and we, the users REDMI's have found a few bugs that need to see solved! Besides we need some optimizations in various sectors, as already noted, these last 2 months, by dependent's REDMI users!

Do not want to push, and I apologize for being so direct, but we need this new ROM!

Thanks for everything, but we need to continue to believe that the REDMI 1 wcdma, was forgotten.
