After installing this update , I installed supersu but my phone became bricked . I saw in a tutorial that I need to install through fastboot the rom but is it the link available here to download the ROM regard the full time or only the updtade ? If only the update , which rom should I install . My phone is a Mi 4W
fastboot rom is the chines on en.miui.com:
http://en.miui.com/a-234.html
take a china developper here, flash it via mi flash
then you can update with xiaomi.eu 6.2.25. It will install TWRP. then from twrp flash a superSU.zip. tested works fine.

Aries ROM/ TWRP combination works flawlessly.

Guys,

I hope you feel this change from xiaomi.eu side - against another restrictive action of official Xiaomi - was a huge work and effort and also how valued this for users. On the one hand we can enjoy further xiaomi.eu updates, on the other hand we have got much better and more powerful recovery with many options and full nandroid backup! Great work and support Xiaomi.eu devs!
R.I.P Mi Recovery :)

There is only "Skip MD5 generation during backup".

Yeah Dude files corrupted

Tried to download the ROM again but got the same error.
I've installed stock Mi recovery and everything worked fine. But I've lost all the data I had in my phone.
It's the third time that I try to install a MIUI ROM with TWRP (I've tried once even like 7/8 months ago), but that never worked for me.

How to install/use any TWRP recovery (fastboot mode)
  1. Your phone need to be recognized by your pc, if it's not recognized please install Xiaomi USB drivers (included in Mi PC Suite http://pcsuite.mi.com)
  2. Download Android ADB Fastboot (from here for example http://rubenalamina.mx/download/525/) and install it.
  3. Rename your *.img file in recovery.img and move it to ADB folder (usually in C: drive)
  4. Boot your phone into fastboot mode by pressing volume down key and pressing power key simultaneously and subsequently releasing power key after some seconds.
  5. Connect your device to your PC with the USB cable.
  6. Search for "cmd" in Windows search bar and right click on it => "Run as administrator".
  7. Type in the command prompt cd C:\ADB to move to ADB folder (if installed in a different path please replace "C:\ADB" with your installation path, e.g. "C:\Program Files (x86)\ADB")
  8. Type fastboot device just to be sure your device is correctly recognized.
  9. Type fastboot flash recovery recovery.img to flash the recovery (Warning: this is permanent and will replace your Mi Recovery and you'll lose your warranty) or type fastboot boot recovery.img if you want to use the recovery without flashing it.
  10. Type fastboot reboot in order to reboot your device once the flash is completed.

Have you try with wipe cache ?

hai provato prima con un wipe cache ?

I have this same problem since the weekly versions of december (or maybe the end of november) last year.

Background apps like WhatsApp, Telegram and others are not staying in memory. Because of this they can not receive new messages and I will not be notified of new messages.
Only after restarting these apps they will start receiving new messages until they kicked out of memory again.

My "solution" is going back to the last version that worked for me: the stable version 7.0.11.0
Here is the bugreport:
http://en.miui.com/forum.php?mod=redirect&goto=findpost&ptid=192051&pid=4319900

Ever tried to enable them in Security->Autostart?

Sorry for asking you this , but I want to make sure I understand correctly what you said .So I need first to install the china developer from http://en.miui.com/a-234.html . Then after that I install this rom ( 6.2.25) .Is what I wrote right?

With dior I have problems. Everytime I tried to install TWRP (fastboot method, Flashify and TWRP apps with ROOT, flashing this ROM) still after I tried to go recovery mode i got black screen and I dont know what to do with it.

Yes as you mentioned your system is out of date better is to start with a mi flash of the China development then you can update safely.

Thank you for your quick answer. Is there a guide somewhere that explains this merging partiotions and what needs to be done for the updating and the need for custom recovery and the like? It seems a bit confusing for me as I do not follow updates on a weekly bases just every two months or so. I searched the forums but could not find a guide. Thanks again.
Just update twice 5.12.17 as you would do as before it will do the right partitioning.
Then update with 6.2.25 it will install twrp automatically.

Just to be sure not to brick my Mi4. I've downloaded the ROM and TWRP. And installed the Flashify. Flashify says I don't have root access. So can I update using Updater App, or do I need to get root access and use Flashify to install TWRP first?
