Universal Tool For Managing Mipad 2

Love your work, tool looks great however I'm having trouble using it to flash TWRP. It goes through downloading boot.img and all that fine and gets to the menu (Bootloader is 'unlocked' but when I hit 2 to flash recovery.img I get this:

Type 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, 7, 8 or 0 then press ENTER:2
target reported max download size of 268435456 bytes
sending 'recovery' (13794 KB)...
OKAY [ 0.481s]
writing 'recovery'...
FAILED (remote: Flash failure: Not Found)
finished. total time: 0.497s
"Recovery flash done. Bootloader unlocked. If you flashed original recovery, change bootloader state manually."
Press any key to continue . . .

And then it starts up in the regular Xiaomi recovery. Any idea what I could be doing wrong?

I think, it's a driver problem. When you will be booted into fastboot mode by the Toolbox, open device manager in Windows and have a look what kind of drivers appears there. You can try to use Xiaomi drivers from Drivers subfolder inside the Toolbox. Extract them somewhere, choose "Update drivers" in device manager, point to extracted folder. Probably Windows will say something about signature or something else. Just ignore this and force driver installation. Then all should work. Maybe you will need reconnect of the device and re-run of the Toolbox, but I don't think so.

The drivers seem fine, Device Manager is already detecting it as Intel Android ADB Interface and it tells me it's up to date when I try to update it from that folder.

I'm not sure it' s correct driver. I can't check now. I will have a look in the evening.

Awesome tool, thanks a lot!

I installed Google apps without any problem, could add my account and run Playstore but it wasn't installing any app. I tried to delete ands readd my account, clean cache first, then clean data, resintall Playstore etc... without success. Then I used your tool and fixed it within 5 min.

Nice to hear. I'm planning to add Market and root installation to this tool in near future.

Thanks a lot for this awesome tool. I have installed the latest Xiaomi.EU ROM and fixed google playstore error.
I did this in that order as I wrote above. Now... is it possible to flash TWRP or do I have to install China Dev ROM and then unlock bootloader and then finally install TWRP. Can I just flash it while having your Xiaomi.EU ROM ?

Note, if you will flash TWRP, you need to set your bootloader state to "unlock".

One more thing. In what directory can I find stock recovery file and can I use Official TWRP app to flash TWRP to my MI PAD 2 ? Have you tried this or this is not recommended?

Just run Tool once again and choose option to install recovery. That's all. Tool will do everything for you.
Why you need TWRP? What you are going to use it for?

Using it for multiple purposes. Also for flashing, but fastboot ROM's only like this https://xiaomi.eu/community/threads/fastboot-rom-with-gapps-root-and-some-other-stuffs.34148/ or original fastboot ROM's. If you moving from other then official or Xiaomi.eu ROM, I suggest to do factory reset after that.

thank you for your reply I know the last rom I flashed is miui 7 6.5.26 and have recovery flashed too (all from here) so was hoping to update to the latest using this tool.... guess that may not be possible.

If you would like to try - you can take a ROM from link, I provided. Then this will work for you.

Hello, Papka i just bought a mipad 2 for my kid, the miui version is 8.2.1.0 stable.

When i launch toolbox, i have a green text telling me "Device xxxxxxxxx found. Booting into dnx mode", then the tablet reboot, i have a "DnX fastboot mode .." text on the tablet, and then a "Device not found, driver problem ..." in toolbox.

I tried the with the 3 different xiaomi drivers without success.
I tried with several intel android drivers without success either. There is many intel drivers, so may be i do not pick the right one, but i'm not sure wich one is the good one

So i don't know what to do right now.

Any idea ?

PS : i work on a Windows 7 32bits OS.

Thank you very much.

Hi wiget, you can download the Intel driver from here: https://software.intel.com/en-us/android/articles/intel-usb-driver-for-android-devices

I got my Mi Pad2 recognised on Windows 7 64-bit using the guide from http://en.miui.com/thread-245880-1-1.html

Try and let me know. I see how I can help.

Take Xiaomi drivers, provided with Tool (folder Drivers). Run Tool. When device will be booted into DnX mode and you will get message that drivers not installed, do net press any button and go to device manager. There, probably, you will see either unknown device or something else, that belongs to MIPAD. Do update driver and point to folder with Xiaomi drivers, you extracted before. When driver will be installed, disconnect usb cable, press power button of MIPAD for ~15 seconts and boot into Android. Then connect USB cable back and run Tool again. All should be fine.
If this method will not work for you - boot your device into fastboot mode manually (turn off device and turn it on holding power and VOL- buttons), WITH CONNECTED USB CABLE and do the same I wrote above.

Let me know about results.

Have no idea, but I would read forums before. Also note, that MiPad 1 have no MIUI based on Android 5.1.1. I think 4.4 is the last one. Have no idea about custom ROM's. What you don't want to buy the same? For example from here https://www.spemall.com/XIAOMI-Tabl...IPS-Retina-screen-Dual-Cameras-2GB-RAM_g.html

They have fast delivery, with no taxes for 20EUR I think. I bought mine there. Got for 7 days.

Yeah, i finally find a mipad 2 for 100€, so both kids will have the same.

Thanks for the answer Papka.
