Hello all, I have a recently unlocked and rooted Ginkgo. Just installed the "xiaomi.eu_multi_HMNote8_20.8.6_v12-10.zip", installed all my apps, and everything's working fine... until I tried to make the first backup via Orange Fox Recovery.
The backup fails in error and after looking at the log file, I see that the responsible is the file "extm_file" which is inside "/data/extm" folder:

I:addFile '/data/extm' including root: 1
==> set selinux context: u:eek:bject_r:extm_data_file:s0
failed to lookup tar policy for '/data/extm' - '6656cb974e8977e3'
I:Error adding file '/data/extm' to '/data/media/0/Fox/BACKUPS/19ec0bd6/2020-08-09--11-08-59/data.f2fs.win002'
Error creating backup.

Well, I've deleted the file, even deleted the folder "extm" itself, but every time the phone is rebooted, the folder and the file are recreated !!
(btw the file "extm_file" has 500 MB)

Please, does anyone ever faced such a situation ? Any clue ?

No. Other sensors doesn't work. I think I found the reason. If you flash the rom with battery saver ON, you will lose all sensors. Reflash without battery saver repair this. May it help someone in the future.

In my case it was erased by some case persist partition, so I had to reflash it separately.
 
do i have to do anything more when up this rom from weakly android 10 to android 11 or just install and wipe davik ?

If it's just extracting the NON-HLOS.bin file from the ROM Zip, putting it into my devices main storage area and then just normally flashing with TWRP as any other files, then ok yes...I can do that and provide feedback.

But if it requires more finesse, then some guidance would be appreciated.

You install it via "fastboot flash modem..." instruction, but you need to get the modem file first and unless you upack EU rom it is needed to get it from a fastboot rom.
I am downloading MIUI12 EEA fastboot rom in order to check what modem.bin is in use.
Dowload takes long!

tried multiple times to install magisk (also trying with canary magisk) but android 11 seems to not recognize. im on mi10. all work properly, bit laggy but all good. Only thing is this. magisk not install

This forum has a search function… try my thread

And please dont only write… it is not working. Tell us your phone, rom, magic version and what you did in detail.

Exactly like that, but in TWRP you should choose to flash an Image rather than a ZIP.

To go from version 20.7.9 eu weekly to 20.8.7 based on Android 11 can I do a wipe data or do I have to do a format data?
I have a poco F2 Pro

Rom xiaomi.eu lastest with Android 11
Trying to use magisk via magisk manager canary version and when i flash the zip file and Then reboot and i go to magisk app It seems that It isn't rooted.
Then i make a boot.img patched by magisk (canary version) and flashed via adb and same result. Then i flashed the same patched boot.img with twrp and nothing.

You want some other Infos ? Is obvious that the method not work. Not work means not work in any way you try to use it.

Ok, I did not installed the 11 version. So I think you are right. It is not working. Perhaps I will try it. Have a nice sunday :)

Install by dirty flash latest rom on mi 10. Had to reboot 3 times till everything started to work ok. Little laggy I have to say for my 8/128GB I have, but this is something normal I guess for a beta Android version. Till now haven't found something not working in my mobile. Thank you for your work

Having problems on Ginkgo with *no-support-for-this-app-on-this-forum* stucked on "processing hdr+" rolling back to 07/16 weekly with no problems

Just rename it to modem.img, makes no difference, it's just a primitive FAT image.

It's not meant to be used with MIUI ROMs, so no support for it here.
 
Something wrong with recents on Davinci device (Mi9T) it doesnt show current using app when opening recents. There's some lag also. After reboot works again for a couple min.

And can u tell where i can find the update in root folder i downloaded via ota

I have enabled Don't Disturb for games on my phone, but it doesn't work, I was playing Brawl Stars and my game have to stop because I receive a call. Maybe it's a bug?
