[GUIDE] How to install Xiaomi.eu ROM for Redmi Note 9 Pro EU

Hi,

I just unlocked my phone (joyeuse version) and tried to install xiaomi.eu_multi_HMNote9ProEU_V11.0.2.0.QJZMIXM as described on the first post.
I got few errors while doing that (same as skonteron had on his second try to rollback into this version, but the difference between his case and mine is that on his first try to install this version, all went good and only after rolling back to this version he had those errors. On my case, I got them from the very beginning).

I saw it was suggested to him to use TWRP, but I'm a bit confused as from what I understood 11.0.2.0 should be good for fastboot and TWRP is still not official for this phone. So - I'm not sure why I had those errors. Can anyone tell me what I did wrong?
Also - if TWRP is what I should still do, then:
1. Should I use the same zip file for that? Any special steps for installing the ROM other than booting to TWRP and install this zip (only)?
2. Will TWRP work with more recent versions (11.0.5.0)?

Will appreciate if someone could clear things up for me and help with those issue.

Forget to Fastboot ROM version!

Install TWRP + latest Recovery ROM version 11.0.5, as is decribedd here:

In the 1st post is easy step by step manual how to install.

11.0.7 EU was uploaded 16 hours or so ago no fastboot version.

The Xiaomi firmware updater website says it's based on the note 9 global stable beta recovery, no fastboot version yet as it's a stable beta.

Still running 11.0.4 may look at the twrp posted and boot it from pc with the platform tools to install the rom or await the proper stable.

Shouldn't need to clear data I imagine running 11.0.4 from the sourceforge.

Point:
You never get anymore a fastboot version at EU.
The same quote for the stable/global rom.
you never get a weekly rom because no any Chinese rom.
Easy to understand, isn't it?

Updating 11.07 via PBRP also works fine.

Only updated around 12 hours ago but it feels a bit smoother than 11.05, and idle battery drain is significantly improved.

So it looks like more than just a security update to me.

Steps to install update of xiaomi.eu ROM (All your data and files on internal storage will NOT be deleted!)
- Download our ROM zip file STABLE
- Unpack downloaded zip file in the PC
- Reboot your device to fastboot mode (press volume down + power)
- Connect to PC via USB cable
- Run fastboot installation script from unpacked zip according your PC operating system

For Windows OS ./windows_fastboot_update_rom.bat
For Linux ./linux_fastboot_update_rom.sh
For MacOS ./macos_fastboot_update_rom.sh

I installed last month via fastboot the 11.0.2 eu version and everything went fine but trying to install the update I got really frustrated.
I unpacked the file xiaomi.eu_multi_HMNote9ProEU_V11.0.7.0.QJZMIXM_v11-10.zip into a separate folder in the PC.
But there are no scripts in this folder so i copied the file windows_fastboot_update_rom.bat and the folder platform-tools-windows to the new ROM folder and I run the script from there (while in fastboot). The procedure copied some files and the phone restarted but the system was not updated and the wifi was not working.
I also tried unpacking in the folder of the original ROM and run the script but that left me with a phone that wouldn't boot.
Then I got the TWRP form an earlier post here and after some trial and error I managed to sideload the 11.0.7 and the phone is now working again.
But of course i lost my setup and I have to redo a ton of things.

All the time I have the impression that I must be missing something very simple. I have read the above quoted lines dozens of times but I can't understand how that update works!
Could anyone take some time to explain how the update works?

If you go to the link I posted you will see there's no official fastboot version either as it's classed as a beta when all the others have one.
Easy to understand right?

Guys can I install xiaomi.eu_multi_HMNote9ProEU_V11.0.2.0.QJZMIXM.zip ?

On my device:

joyeuse-eea
V11.0.4.0.QJZEUXM - Currently running stock .

I've just unlocked my bootloader .
The safe way to get onto Xiaomi.eu ROM from stock, is to get the latest published Fastboot ROM from the link on the first page and follow the instructions.

Once on that, you can install TWRP and then the latest ZIP ROM from:

See this thread for installing TWRP on Joyeuse...

Here it is EU forum!
STOCK ROM HERE:
fastboot STOCK rom included.
Went to your link 11.0.7 no stock fastboot either on that site only recovery and OTA, read your links before posting.

It's marked officially as a 'Stable Beta' that's why there is no official Xiaomi stock rom with fastboot, once it's out of the beta then it will have one.

And yes I know we are are a custom version site.

There is a little bit chaos in phone naming.
Global Redmi Note 9 Pro (Joyeuse) = Indian/Chinese Redmi Note 9 Pro Max.
Global Redmi Note 9S (Curtana) = Indian/Chinese Redmi Note 9 Pto.

You have Indian/Chinesse model Redmi Note Pro (Curtana).

So, you can't install to Curtana ROM for Joyeuse.
Download ROM for Curtana.

Es gibt ein bisschen Chaos bei der Benennung von Telefonen.
Global Redmi Note 9 Pro (Joyeuse) = Indisch / Chinesisch Redmi Note 9 Pro max.
Global Redmi Note 9S (Curtana) = indische / chinesische Redmi Note 9 Pto.

Sie haben Indianer / Chinesse Model Redmi Note Pro (Curtana).

Sie können also nicht für Joyeuse auf Curtana ROM installieren.
Laden Sie das ROM für Curtana herunter.
[/ZITAT]
Aber ich habe ein Joyeuse mit NFC ...
On my Phone is 11.0.4.0 QJZMIXM right now

Well it Seems you changed the fingerprint to the wrong one.
You can try to change it to the right one with plenty of magisk modules or modify it yourself.

Other way could be to modify the install package and delete the checkup from it.
I would highly recommend to first check up if you are right about your statement that you really got joyeuse.
Be aware that while flashing the wrong Rom you could end up it a soft- or even hard bricked phone.

For anyone else sorry that im writing in german I just saw that He Seems to be using googletranslator and may due to this fact something got false translated or He missunderstood something in the installation and I offered him to help him out in german via PM.
Best regards.

I have the same device QJZEUXM.
so you updated your device QJZEUXM with QJZMIXM. Have you noticed any issue?. can be any change in any LTE band?.
did you formatted data only?

thanks
No man. Everything works just fine. I did notice a little bit better battery life which is good. Go for it man :)

You can't update via fastboot.
You'll have to install TWRP and perform future updates from there.

Is this global or EEA?

This is stock EEA for Europ (EU letters in the reference)
Global ROM for world has MI letters and Indian global is IN.
Unlock your bootloader and go to EU rom version.
