Updated the firmware with twrp. With wipes.
If I choose the Ukrainian language - I can not enter the developers option. Returns to the settings. If I choose English, everything is fine.

Can someone confirm or deny it?

Is it okay for me to flash either stable or weekly roms, without wiping anything? I am using 6.12.8 on redmi pro

When you change from stable to developer or vice verse, its almost mandatory wipe cache, dalvik and data, so make a backup before.

Yes dalvik and cache, but only if you have problems, you can always update from miui update app.

Before all that, you could try this, you don't loose any data or configuration.

Wipe system, cache, dalvick, restart recovery
And flash again the rom


I didn't flash last rom yet, but doing this with 7.3.2 hadn't any problem with widgets

Just after trying that, no joy still no widgets have given up and restored an mm based based backup. Thinks it's best to stay away from the nought based builds for now doesn't currently add much feature wise until the miui 9 update arrives

I have a Redmi Note 3 Pro device - kenzo

I found a little bug: when I tap on the "reboot in recovery" in the "updater" app the device simply reboots. This also happens from console when i type fastboot commands. But I can go into recovery and fastboot mode by pressing the classic combination of the device keys.

Anyway thanks a lot again, and sorry for my bad english =)

Whats with this new auto brightnes?
The slider shouldnt move when auto.
Before in auto it was adjusted with light sensor and with slider you adjusted the range of brigtness.

It bugs me because now at night screen is to dark, but if I move the slider it is not autoadjusting anymore.

Dont know who thought this is better because Google figured out long time ago that auto brightness works best with slider for choosing the range.

Edit: now I see its autoadjusting... It just takes long time for brightness to change... And sometimess there is a delay...

Your video shows MIUI Smart Assistant which has not been fully activated for this rom. I keep that app frozen in TiBu!

Google assistant is a function of "Google App", you choose it as the default assist app and configure a home button to launch it.

For it to be activated you need US English and probably a US VPN (edit: - if not in USA) to update the app to activate it.

NOTE ROM will not work.... Because you don't have Redmi Note but Redmi 3s!!!
You have "HM3S3X" ROM for your phone, and "land" TWRP.

Your are right, but you can still brick your phone... and than it will be almost useless to you.

Thanks, I have found another miui 8.1 eu rom and managed to use land twrp. Al has gone well and now I have a "Dutch" Redmi 3s.

On Redmi Note 3 SE (Kate) the contrast settings under Screen has gone since at least 7.2.x, there is no link to this feature. I can only find these settings by searching for "contrast" in settings search. Why did it disappear?

Thanks a lot for clearing everything up for me. Yes I've been trying to get it to work, I think everything is updated and do have my locale set to us. Though the VPN part I'm not sure what to do if needed.

The only issue I`m facing on last 2 weeklies is that some service within Android is keeping the device awake, this only happens after using Bluetooth, reboot fixes it until next Bluetooth switch on
