I'm unable to add(choose) the ringtone in the "Settings" - "Sound" - "Ringtone" - tap on "plus" sign - via explorer. Explorer does not see any media files in the folders.
Who else can confirm that?

If you want to have root and safetynet at the same time do it the old one, magisk + safetynet fix. Anyone who does not need root does nothing, installs this build, and has a native safetynet pass.
I get the message "its not allowed to upgrade to unofficial ROM package" at checking ofer updater-app... whats wrong?

If you have an official system, you will not install anything by the updater beyond the official versions.
Unlock the bootloader, install twrp, and install xiaomi.eu
All seems to work fine with 7.6.29 on Redmi 4x (HM4X, 3GB)
Also the issue with the auto-brightness is now solved and it is much more responsive and faster.

- Install TWRP via Fastboot mode, then install our ROM
- Code:
fastboot flash recovery twrp.img
fastboot boot twrp.img - TWRP Recovery Zip DOWNLOAD or TWRP.ME
- For root install SuperSU 2.82 in TWRP
- For root MiPAD2 use SuperSU 2.46 in TWRP
- Unlock your first bootloader here http://en.miui.com/unlock/
- Install TWRP via Fastboot mode, then install our ROM
- Code:

- Wipe /data partition
- Copy our ROM to the internal storage

That's correct what @slimozis said there...for SafetyNet pass just need to install our ROM without any additional modding or tricks. SafetyNet pass is by default in our ROM. Aanyway I never use root due to banking apps and due to contactless payment with my phone. Safety first!

So you can choose the ringtone through explorer? It shows media files in the folders normally?
