Buying a Redmi Note 5G in Jan-Feb 2025, with automatic phone recorder

Hi all,

Living in EU, I've got Note 5, 7, 9 and now I am hesitating between 13 or 14, 512 GB ROM, I saw that
- Chinese version has the 16 GB RAM, while an EU version has 12 GB max,
- Is it is true that the automatic recording only works on the Chinese ROM ?

Is it true that some Notes are not supported by our Xiaomi.EU ROM ?

And on Note 9 Pro no 3rd party software for automatic recording has ever worked for me, how can I have that in the new phone ?

PS: If Note doesn't answer my need, should I switch to Poco X6 or F6 ?

Thanks

- Automatic call recording only has CN, RU, TW and custom xiaomi.eu ROM.
- xiaomi.eu only supports devices with Snapdragon chipset
(both points apply to Xiaomi, Poco, Redmi devices)

Thanks for you prompt answer, do I understand correctly that in order to have that automatic recording, I would need to buy
"either a CN, RU or TW version which has a Snapdragon chipset", then go to this forum, download and install the custom xiaomi.eu ROM ?

Among the candidates: 13 Pro 5G, 13 pro + 5G, 14 pro 5G, 14 pro + 5G I see that only the Note 13 pro 5G or a Poco F6 Pro has a snapdragon chipset. Now I know what I need to buy:

- A Chinese ROM 13 pro 5G of 16 GB RAM + 512 GB ROM.
- A Chinese ROM Poco F6 Pro 5G 16 GB RAM + 512 GB ROM

Am I on a good track ?

- No, you need to buy a Global device (CN device cannot unlock bootloader).
Then you can change (reinstall) to Russian (RU), Taiwanese (TW) or xiaomi.eu custom ROM.
All operations require unlocking the bootloader.

- Redmi Note 14 Pro 5G uses MediaTek chipset, it is not supported here. (You would have to use TW ROM).

It is not absolutely necessary to buy a device with a Snapdragon chip. You can also buy a Global device with a Mediatek chip, but in that case you will have to use RU or TW ROM if they are available for the given model.

Thanks for the clarification. I understand a bit more on what a custom Xiaomi.EU ROM is.

Still a question though: why is there a need to have a CN custom ROM when we can buy an original CN version ?

You still don't understand.
Xiaomi.eu ROM is based on CN ROM but significantly modified and adapted for use outside China, especially for EU users.
The official CN ROM has only two languages (CN/EN) and does not contain all Google services.

Because the Original CN comes with limited google implementation, limited Language selection and full CN apps etc.
Xiaomi.EU CN custom rom is originally meant for devices that come with CN ROM but are made into a globalized CN.

If you for an example have a global Xiaomi 14 you can install it too though
