Good evening.

Got note 4x, fresh from china, sb. brought it over.
Played bit around, did update :s
then wanted to switch to global.
put rom on the phone, like miui_hmnote4xglobal_7.4.20_ee7ba921d_7.0.zip and another
Easy ways, not working. No downgrade possible.

like in old oneplus, flash it complete manually.

applied for unlock, worked.
still not working, yeah sure.
read around, so cwm, twrp, flashify (really nice)
took twrp as on oneplus.
installation, ok.
so starting, wiping.
installation, choosed:
Folder: /sdcard (even though no sd card in the phone??!)
miui_hmnote4xglobal_7.4.20_ee7ba921d_7.0.zip
MD5 checksum not found, skipped
zip signature verification failed. error installing zip gilr /sdcard/miui_hmnote4xglobal_7.4.20_ee7ba921d_7.0.zip

wondering, wrong rom?
thinking, looking...tried to install adb side load. does not start, not working.

If reboot, miui logo more thatn 20minute.

PC: win7 machine, even though most of time using Linux Mint 17.3, sometimes even SuseLinux

Not easy to understand your post. I think you flashed TWRP, then official ROM. Now you got bootloop?
I guess you forgot to flash lazyflasher...

Hello, I have same issue:
Unlocked bootloader
Installed TWRP voor Mido
Restart device > Mi logo and not starting up.

Lazyflasher? Never heard of it, never used it.

Can you explain please?

Thanks,
Alex

Hello,

I know there are more threads about Redmin Note 4X which do not start up, but I really need some help.
My wife bought a RN4X with Qualcomm. It came with custom rom, so I flashed a fastboot (latest China dev) rom and got permission (after 72 hours) from Xiaomi to unlock it the official way with Mi Unlock app. So I unlocked the RN4X today. After that I installed TWRP (3.1.1.0) for Mido from twrp.me with fastboot mode. That succeeded. The device booted in TWRP. From the menu in TWRP I rebooted the device, but it will not restart, it's stuck in Mi logo. I always flash, unlock, install TWRP and flash this way and always succeeded, but now unfortunately it will not.

Does anyone know what I can do to fix this?

Thanks you,
Alex

Search for lazyflasher.ZIP and copy to internal storage. Boot into TWRP and flash lazyflasher. Reboot.

If that's the only way, I will do that. But it's for the Redmi Note 3?
Can you tell me why I have to use this tool? I never did before.
On this MIUI site this zip is not mentioned. I want to understand.

Boot into TWRP. That is vol+& power. If that doesn't work try vol-&power.

MTP should work with TWRP. Connect phone with PC and copy the file.

Thank you so much man!
I did not know about the need of this tool.
Thanks for you explanation and link.
Of course I could copy the zip to the internal storage, the RN4X was just in the explorer.
So I installed the latest miui.eu dev rom and it's just fine now.

You saved my day!

Last week and today I installed weekly update. It works, but after the rom has been flashed in twrp there's an error in red saying "E: unknown command (log)". What does that mean? Update works though. Do you know what this error means?

Without log I can't find out. TWRP doesn't support OTA updates. There are versions that support incremental OTA updates though.
It is possible, that your TWRP has been overwritten by the update. Check if it is still functional. If not flash TWRP again like you did before. Don't forget lazyflasher.
Next time when you get an update just download but don't install from updater APP. Boot into TWRP and install from there.

Perhaps anyone can confirm if that method is better?

Install TWRP for Android 7.. That error means nothing anyway to you...

Oké, thank you.
Just install the TWRP from this site (androidfilehost) with fastboot method after wiping from the device or...
install (install image) with the twrp which is on the device now?
