[KERNEL][MIUI V5/QDTXX] Stock kernel with init.d support / fstrim

What is USM? Google says it means "The University of Southern Mississippi" :D

Ow. Sorry, typo. I meant UMS, USB Mass Storage. I've tried some apps that should enable it, but while they don't give an error message and they switch off the Media Transfer Protocol, the UMS still doesn't work.

U can use my automatic kernelreplacer as base to patch ramdisk so u don't need to release a manually modified version for each kernel.
Where can I find this so I could add init.d support to the stock kernel?

New update!
Based on M1cha suggestion. ONE zip for MIUI and AOSP for all kernels
Full list of compatible roms:
- MIUI V5 weekly builds
- MIUI V5 stable builds (JLB) (in theory - not tested)
- MIUI V4 downgraded --> Follow this link
- Xiaomi AOSP (QDTXX)
- Custom roms based on the above

For some more information read the first post
Big thanks for M1cha for his kernelreplacer.

WARNING!
Xiaomi released Android 4.3 for Mi2/s
I am not sure if this kernel works on Android 4.3
Do not flash the universal zip

I will build a new zip this weekend for 4.3 based roms.

There is no Android 4.3 based MIUI, nor did Xiaomi release something alike. That's a ROM ported by one of the developers for personal use, nothing else.

So far MIUI is still on 4.1.1, so don't get your hopes up for a while. Maybe 4.2 next month with some luck.

Hi redmanner great work!^_^
I have an MI2s just want to know if i install this will i now be able to control the cpu frequency using
SystemTuner Pro or No Frill CPU?
because I would like to control the cpu frequency by setting the normal mode
max frequency to 1.2gh instead of 1.7gh to save battery

Im a newbie in flashing
Installation
1. Put universal zip on your sdcard (for MIUI and QDTXX)

2. Boot in ClockWorkMod recovery. --Is it ok if i just used the recovery mode? I dont know how to install the ClockWorkMod :D

3. Flash kernel to system1 or system2 (depends where the ROM is installed).
4. Reboot.

Many thanks,

Hi, well you probably can scale the frequencies up and down.
But you can't overclock like to 2ghz, maximum is still 1.7ghz
And you probably don't need this kernel because most apps use a startup service.
Although some apps (it's rare) require init.d

WARNING!
Ignore my previous warning, xiaomi did not release android 4.3 (I read it wrong)
There are android 4.3 roms for Xiaomi Mi2/s though, this kernel won't work with these roms.

fantastic news thanks for sharing this with us , noob question is is compatable with mi2s phones or just mi2

New update! 20130923 universal
- used ramdisk from MIUI 3.9.20 (probably nothing changed but to be certain)
- added fstrim at boot for /cache, /data and /system.

About fstrim:
You probably won't feel a diffrence but it shoud extend flash memory life.

Does it work with JLB 22 ?
