do i need to update my stock rom to official ics to use miui ics rom? (SGS2)

Don't know if you do, I did, rooted with CF-Root Kernel and then installed MIUI, not a problem whatsoever with the install. Of course, MIUI v4 is still in development but it seemed like the right move to use some Samsung ICS base before installing MIUI ICS.
PS, I used XWLP7, just in case you're wondering. (available @ XDA)

Go to Settings -> Launcher Settings.

Mess around with those.
hey, brother... i know the effect given by u in launcher... like "3d" , "cascade", " page"... etc... but m requesting to add some more effects rather than this.... like" cylinder", or " sphere"...etc...... if possible plz do necessary...

That is really not necessary. You can flash a cf-root matching your current kernel on GB. Then do a complete wipe in recovery, after that you can flash Miuiv4.

There is another thread in this forum, which includes a step by step guide ;)

Open the music player from the lockscreen (double tap on the lock icon) that will get you to listen to music without any crashes. Of course, don't touch the app then or it will crash after a few seconds.

Don't see anything in bugs section for sensation. Tried flashing .13 then .20. It still doesn't boot up.

Failure on both 13 and 20 or just 20?

Try rewipe on Dalvik, and Normal Cache and do Factory Reset.
sometimes doing a fix permissions from the CWM Recovery fixes it.

both. flashed .20 on top of .13 like someone suggested.
tried .20 by itself as well.
full wipe. including dalvik

have you got it to load?

Im runnin a Nexus S 4G personally but I had this issue on my droid and my atrix when I first started messing with roms.
Figured id throw my 2 cents in.

Have you tried pushing it to the phone with ADB?

oh okay. thanks tho. and no i have not. i will later i guess. tired of messing with it. hopefully they post a fix. from the looks of the comments. im not the only one

How I can change SMS centre number? When I set, it says: Failed to set the SMS centre number, please try again later.

The problem is: when receiving SMS with number included country code, the name in contact is not displayed. For example:

In my contact, I save ABCXYZ as 0906XXXXXX, but if message is sent from +84906XXXXXX, ABCXYZ is not displayed as incoming name but the number +84... only. I did not face this when using GB ROM. I take a look at SMS centre number and see that it's very strange, not the number of my mobile service provider, therefore I think I need to change the centre number but could not be done.

Someone can help me fix it?

Thanks,

when it fails to set number again, just go to sammy based rom.....go to message setting, enter your sms center number provided by operator. then flash miui rom.

and yes, in miui number will be strange only, like 0000+then your operator number etc.

Same to me. Music player is working just for a short time than phone reboots. Tried with google music player as default but no big change.

An other issue is with option menus in some applications like clock: text is white with white background.
