Underclocking Cpu On Miui V7 Dev

Hi,

after switching to MIUI v7 the battery lasts less than half compared to v5 with powersave option enabled and the phone become quickly hot with most app/games, I tried to use the nice Kernel Adiutor app to underclock MI2S cpu frequency to a max of 1026MHz (that is what does old v5 power save toggle) but the setting is applied only to the first core and the other 3 still remain unaffected (going to 1728MHz on load). This makes the settings pretty useless.. Do you know if there is a way to cap the max CPU frequency of all 4 cores to 1026MHz with MIUI v7 (and being able to manually change to the stock frequency when needed)?

I tried also changing the CPU governor to 'powersave' as workaround but this way the UI becames very laggy, the better choice seems using 'ondemand' or 'msm-dcvs' governor with max frequency to 1026MHz (but can't apply it)

Thanks Varvaris, I tried it now but can't see a setting to change CPU frequency in the app, there are only a collection of scripts to apply that increase performance or merge processes on less core (same setting is available on Kernel Adiutor app for CPU), probably some of those scripts are already built in MIUI/sMIUI roms. I really need a battery save toggle that reduces the frequency of all 4 cores since the phone now drains too fast (with old v5 rom with one full charge the phone lasts about 3 times with same usage)

Try it for one day (LSpeed) with CPU tuner on Dashboard, with CPU optimizer and Multicore power save on, battery lasts longer.

I played a bit with Kernel Adiutor and got the frequency change on all cores! I need to disable Qualcomm thermal driver in Thermal page and leave Core control enable, now all the cores goes max to 1023MHz on load and with Multicore Powersaving enabled usually only two core are switched on, UI remains smooth (just made a quick test, launched clash of clan app: with stock settings after 3 min of play battery goes down about 10% with only Wifi sensor enabled and screen brighness to min, same test with new KA setting battery goes down about 2%.. I wonder why the CPU powersaving toggle that was native in v5 and previous roms was removed from stock MIUI.. nonsense..)

marvollo ported v5 4.4.4 for merged partitions, maybe that's an option for you?
