And statements like this confirm why Mark is Mark and you are a noob. On what authority do you have to declare that he "just done a few mods"? How much smali have you decompiled? Forget that, how many mods have you created? How many ports have you done? How many kernels have you compiled? What exactly have you contributed to the MIUI community? Probably squat. I don't even see a forum donor indicator next to your username.



They choose to not submit a public repo. therefore, any code extracted form their work is fair game. However, we (not you!) in the development community thank them for sharing their FM Radio framework source that they so graciously shared with Cyanogen. In addition, Shinzul was most generous in sharing with them the wimax source. That being said, i doubt they got permission from CyanogenMod for the kangs i see all over miui.



As far as you're concerned, Mark does own miui. He is the guy who brings miui to the English speaking world. However, I can understand how you may be uncomfortable with that. So, maybe someday, you may have a fraction of the brain stem Mark has. When that occurs, you can translate all that xml, adjust the layouts, edit the smali, and produce and Eng Pack. Until then, feel free to STFU and GTFO!

Well it proly don't matter an no i have not donated to forum as of yet but have donated to dphase for work an plan on a donation to this site to but i would snag the app off market if i liked. I fundimentaly think its funny that people are getting so bent over this. I love the rom an don't wanna lose it bit if all this starts goin all CIA private this an secret that i see no reason to stay. All y'all who complain can always leave. Anyway it all good. Y'all got my support cause it ain't like i can make this stuff lol

If you could read properly, which you probably can't, you would have read that Mark can't run the weather-app without bandwidth and I guess a man with your limited intellect doesn't know that bandwidth costs money. Can you please tell everyone here why you think Mark should pay up for the bandwidth you use.

Everyone just relax. I can see what that Guy means, like why should we pay when it was developed for free by the Chinese devs. Why should mark profit off something that was made for free? I just don't think that Guy understands that mark isn't gonna be profitting off of it, we are paying so we can support the app. We are paying so we can get the proper bandwidth to make sure the app works properly. As a community we should be willing to support it, everyone should be willing to chip in since mark or any of the devs shouldn't have to pay for it just so we can use it. If we want it, we must be willing to do what we can for it.

Wow cant believe how heated this topic is. I dont have a problem contributing £1 for a quality app like MIUI weather. It looks preety sweet! Keep up the good work mark I cant wait to see what you've done with this app!
 
Mark, the fact is no matter what you do or how much you help people out, you will always have people against you or people trying to bring you down. It is the facts of life. Someone can invent the cure for Aids and I am sure there would still be people that will argue against it. Does that mean they shouldn't share the cure?

There are over 10,000 members of this community and you are getting upset over 5 people's comments? What about the other 9,995 people who appreciate what you do. I say move on for 9,995 peope that appreciate what you do and please do not let the 5 naysayers ruin everything for the rest of us. Otherwise they win and that wouldn't be right for this large community!
 
I'll pay for this app as I donated few euros some weeks ago. I had a lot of support, help, kindness and friendship from Mark and all Miui-dev.com, for free. Thank to Mark and Miui-dev I can translate correctly this rom in my language (and remember that translating a rom doesn't mean only translate words from a language to another, there is a lot of other work) and release every week language packages that many people in my country can download to enjoy MIUI in our language. So I think it's right to give them (Mark and Miui-dev) back something. I think we don't pay only for weather app, I think is better to consider that 1£ also as a little donation to people who really work hard for many people, and I think it's fair.This is just my experience and my opinion.
 
I chose no because I can't use the market in my country for buying stuff yet. so if it will be even 0.000001$ I won't have any way to get it ><

We are still undecided on selling the app or even releasing it. We've got a few bugs which needs to be resolved - if they can't be fixed then all our efforts were for nothing :(

I know that I was one of the contributers to heat up this thread but I see morons on every forum I visit and sometimes I just get fed up with it.

I don't know what are all the bugs you are facing, but if there are not critical bugs maybe some of us would still have the application.

Mark if u get it to work i say let that bitch out to the world. 3 reasons i say that. 1 it could generate money which i clearly remember u saying would go back into the community so I'm all for that. 2 it could lead to more members when they see how sweet the app is they come try the rom. 3 all the haters who are against it might leave an all would be good for us. Hell I'm all for improvement an exspansion. I love this rom an if money makes it better for the future then sell that bitch. Again i would buy an sorry for the long post.

I didnt vote and probably wont but figured id comment. I dont use a weather app period so I could care less. With that being said, if the difference between continuing development and not doing so is a $1...well Id donate a dollar without problem. But so Im clear this dollar wouldnt be for a weather app. It would just be to make sure miui devs continues its efforts.

On top of that i think the actions of some users and even the devs themselves have gotten out of hand. This makes the community look bad as a whole.
 
Hey Mark, if you release it on the Market, more people will probably buy it, and that means more profit for other stuff right?

I agree with these other guys.

5 guys complaining, and you're thinking of blocking everyone out? That really doesn't make sense.

I appreciate everything you guys do for this ROM. But if you start banning people and making everything private, then there is absolutely no reason for me to support it anymore. Especially if I can't get updates, new features, etc.

I hope you guys continue to make a great profit. I couldn't care less where the source code comes from, as long as I can use my phone!

Keep up the hard work, and don't let a few assholes ruin it for the other 10,000 members.
