Mix 4 owners: I have a new Mix 4 on the way to me in the UK, and am trying to decide what to do when it arrives given the ROM problems. What would you do? Stick with the Chinese ROM? Go straight to stable? Or, as MSAR93 suggests further back in the forums, go to weekly 22.2.23?

Trading Shenzhen have just told me on webchat support they no longer ship to the UK owing to Brexit. I'd tried to order the Mix 4 on their site but the GB/UK option isn't available any more. Does anyone have any other ideas?

Yeah. Pretty used to the procedure after doing it each week for the last couple of years on the Mi Note, and now Mix 2. First time I've ever seen a ROM fail to boot completely.

All Xiaomi devices received a xiaomi.eu ROM update 6.2.25 that installed twrp automatically except the Mi Note. Apparently we Mi Note users have to use fastboot and a PC instead. I don't know why.

I don't have a PC, and fastboot requires one. Feels like we Mi Note users have been left out of the loop a bit here.

Alas, no. Thank you (and thanks to @Meforsi too) but Flashify tells me I have no root access. Not sure what to try next. @ingbrzy, is there a version of 6.2.25 for the Mi Note that would let me get twrp and update like all the other Xiaomi users?

Does the twrp.zip file have to be renamed in order to install it via the updater app?

Thank you. I have done this - the first method, that is, as I do not have a PC. It didn't do anything: when I reboot to recovery, there is no TWRP, but the old Mi Recovery. SRD971 in post #184, above, mentions re-naming twrp.zip to update.zip. Is that the step that's missing?

A newer bug: since the update to 6.1.28/29 on Mi Note, SMS automatically send from SIM 2, despite defaults being set to SIM 1 in settings.

@Iaanuk - are you using the wifi connexion at all? I've got terrible problems with the Mi Note LTE on this ROM. Every time I want to connect to a wifi network I have to reboot the phone first, otherwise it won't connect.

Mi Note 64gb LTE, English language. Updated with no problems, and the first boot is as fast as normal. I'm sad to see that the CRT animation is gone, though. It's been replaced with a fade-to-black&white animation. Looks like Windows XP closing down in a hurry. Shame. EDIT:I spoke too soon...
