@graw2 this option initially popped up when I fiirst entered TWRP, after flashing it as a recovery. It gave me the option to have the system partition R/W or R/O. Which is the correct option? What should be selected there?
Hello, Data, Cache, DalvikHi there,
Sorry because probably it's already been asked so many times.
My Redmi Note 2 currently running on xiaomi.eu's stable rom. Plan to change it to weekly ROM. So, on TWRP do I must wipe everything (data, storage, system, cache) or enough only to select dalvik and cache?

Thank you...

greetings.
It doesn't matter what is the default value, you can change r/w mode any time in TWRP under mount option. Anyway if you you keep system read only enabled then you cannot make any restore from previous backup. So imo there is no any sense to keep this option enabled...but up to you...

@nicoff @graw2 what is the default in TWRP? How do you have TWRP to mount the system partition? R/W or R/O?
I am asking, because I'm having a bug trying to flash updates from stable firmwares (see: http://xiaomi.eu/community/threads/6-3-31.30858/page-21#post-284457 ), as @ingbrzy suggested.
What type of backups need a R/W file system in TWRP? For example, do the ones taken with the MIUI local backup function need it? Or are you talking about restoring backups taken with TWRP itself? And sure you need r/w system to restore a backup, but when you restore it, it will be restored as an untouched and unmodified system so no issue.
Sorry, but I was not succesful. My son has a Mi3 and it was about his new TWRP-based firmware I was asking about. Plus a friend whose RN3 Pro I unlocked had an issue when trying to flash a newer xiaomi.eu stable firmware, when a xiaomi.eu firmware + TWRP was already installed...Glad you could install that recovery at the end @cosmik ! How you did it? Maybe this could be useful for other people in your situation...
Thanks, perhaps that will solve my issue with the RN3 Pro and the Mi3.Well, "Read only" is what you will need in most of the cases. R/W just if you need to root or need to restore a backup.
500 minutes of use and go to 0%. It seems to me goodAnyone using RMN3?After flashing this rom the battery draining is so bad, it only takes 5min to dtop 1%, even just normal browsing!
Does 4g affected?(I connected to wifi anyway)
