I flashed superSu 2.79 but no root here in Mi5S. Do I have to install another version of it and where can I find it here?
Works fine on my Mi5S. I flashed ROM, then SuperSU 2.79, then Xposed v87. All of them at once in that order, no reboots in between. Also remember to wipe cache and dalvik cache after flashing everything.

I know you are probably busy with MI5S problems, but did you get a chance to look at "Kenzo"?
Do I have to wait until next weeks rom, are is there any chance you will be recompiling this rom?
I noticed that the boot image is larger than the previous rom version.

Anyone else having problems with Kenzo version of this weeks rom.

When I try to flash SuperSU, tried both stable 2.79 and beta 2.79-SR2.

The phone doesn't start, just stays on the boot animation.

The phone boots fine if I don't try to root.

Tried it with both SU 2.79-SR2 and Stable 2.79, device still doesn't boot.

Got this error in recovery log.

"- Flashing boot image
dd: writing '/dev/block/mmcblk0p21': No space left on device

16384+0 records out
67108864 bytes (64.0MB) copied, 0.281215 seconds, 227.6MB/s
"
Even tried flashing the boot image from the previous rom over todays rom, but it still would not boot.

HI, I installed 8.1.7.0 stable for Mi5 the day you released it...after that, I noticed that there is no stable nougat rom from xiaomi for MI5....
I had 2 problems:
1- Turned off phone with 16% battery...after a couple of hours I turned on phone, only get blinking red led..no battery...charging it solves the isssue...first time that something like that occurs.

2- First days after rom install, I have use gps normally, working fine...but today my phone is not able to locate me in any app...gpsstatus said 4 sats only...reboot and gps status fix 11 sats but cant locate me...google maps, runtastic...no app can locate me.

Then I have a question for Xiaomi.EU staff...ppl who use stable roms, are looking for STABLE and less bugs...then, It would be nice if you release stable roms when its was released for xiaomi, and no before...we are not looking for betas of stable roms, but final stable roms...we love your work and efforts, stable means stable, nor beta for stable or something...now I have a not working gps and I use it a lot :/

Does the ROM works fine without root?

It booted fine, but didn't use it much because was testing trying to get it rooted!

No reports of problems on Offical China Developer, but another user reported the problem is on Official Global.

I reverted to the previous week where root flashes without problems.

I asked because if ROM works fine without root, and without xposed then can't blame our release for no boot issue caused by root that is modified the original boot.img...imho

The problem as I see it, is that boot image provide in the rom has changed since prior rom. And supersu is unable to modify properly that new boot image resulting in the device hanging.

Other's have reported similar problems on XDA. With removing all traces of xposed on the device.

I will share the boot image on xda supersu thread and see if others can detect the problem.
But I still believe the problem is this release.

Redmi Note 3 Pro (Kenzo), all work fine, without bootloop problem after flash SuperSu 2.71.
Thank :).

To be even more sure.. did a clean flash, flashed superSU and it broke up.. so no. its not Xposed

Mi5 - every time I start camera movies resolution is set to 720p. Even after I change to 4K, shot a movie, then close app and kill all apps then start again - it will be set to 720p...

That is an known issue of xiaomi camera. We hope they will solve it in MIUI 9 - with the new camera app.
They are curently reverse engineering S7 camera app for better results. :)
