Missing the point of this request!....switching off through hardware button will remain enabled anyhow, therefore from my perspective no benefit. If hardware button would be disabled, how to turn-off or start into bootloader when phone got frozen?

You can do an adb reboot, if your phone is frozen, when you connect to PC. This way the *lucky finder* will not be able to reboot until the battery dies...

If we have to reboot or go to bootloader, then we can take the adb route... No problem at all. I have done this few times

yep same here on mi8, came from 8.8.30 with twrp 3.2.3-0806, did the ota update and now the device bootloops back into twrp.

gonna try a twrp update, reflash and see what happens.

so i downloaded the latest "dipper" twrp from the twrp site, flashed it and the mi8 would not boot at all anymore. thus back to the twrp 3.2.3-0806, pushed from fastboot. i tried flashing the lastest stable EU realease but that also resulted in a bootloop. since i dont want to whipe data im now back to 8.8.30 and all is fine. ill wait for a bit

Hello guys! I have no mobile data on MI6 using this and previous version. Mobile data works on any other custom ROM and on MIUI eu stable, but here it cannot connect to the network. Any ideas?

Edit.
I've just noticed that only some websites works from the default browser speed dial - gmail, google, cnn, wikipedia, fb and yt. But can't login to play store/add google account to the phone, cannot load other websites.

Similar issue on MI MIX 2 some app/site can't be load because of network issue

SMS app still have this same bug. No one repair it. It's look like this is time to istall custom ROM. Yes I report it on miui. com but if no one more confirm it, they nothing do with this bug.

I had the same issue... Every version after 8.11.15. To fix it, Install the new rom, and then over-write the mms.apk in /system/priv-app/mms with the one from 8.11.15. Set the permissions and reboot... Solved the problem for me.

How about add this feature on MIUI for better/improved security:

Disable POWER BUTTON on lock screen or remove power off, restart, airplane mode on the power option.

This is very important, how are we supposed to track the phone or ring the phone when its been stolen and can be easily turned off. This has been MIUI's dilemma for years.

Thanks for the update, on the lock screen, when wallpaper carousel was enabled there was a link "wallpaper details" under the clock on the last version of the ROM. This appears to be missing on this release
