Dolby Atmos Seems Not Working

Hi all! I noticed that on my mi5, with the xiaomi eu roms, the sound's system is very low, in particular the sound of lock, unlock and the sound of display touch. On my Mi2s there is a Dolby menu in settings, this menu unfortunately is not present in Mi5, so I googled and found "Dolby Atmos" in xda forum: I flashed the zip in twrp recovery and installed apk but even if I switch on Dolby Atmos, nothing change. Can someone tell me how to boost system and notifications sound (such as in the sMiui rom)? Thanks a lot!

Hi,

you may try the following:

- go to /system/etc and edit mixer_paths.xml
- scroll down until you find the path name - <path name="speaker"> // it's on line 1446
- change "RX7 and RX8 Digital Volume" value = " to 95 (it's 84 by default)

I use this to increase the overall volume output.

Ps: "Dolby Atmos" won't really work on a phone, not even on a home equipement. It's meant for cinemans/theaters where you can use as much speakers as you like or need to enjoy atmos.
