Hello,

Email app versions (20191206_b1/b2/b4) don't correctly sync emails... :(

To come back to the latest working version (20191024_b4), read this:

IMPORTANT: After downgrading, you will need to reconfigure your email account(s)!

Installation steps:

1) Download and put this file in root of your phone's storage => TWRP_MIUI_Email_App_Downgrade_v2.zip

2) Boot to Recovery.

3) Go to "Mount" menu and tick "System", then "Back".

4) Go to "Install" menu and find & select "TWRP_MIUI_Email_App_Downgrade_v2.zip" file.

5) Reboot and wipe "Email" app data (all data) in phone's settings.

6) Voilà! :)

- A newest Email app version (20191206_b4) is available and fixes syncs bug! New TWRP zip file created. :)

- 20.1.21 beta ROM still have a bugged Email app version, even if named "b4"... Install APKMirror version to fix it.

I have a problem with email apk. In the setting I can only delete cache BUT no data!
Because it's a system app. For normal apps it's no problem to delete data.
Can you please help me?

Yes... Create multiple "INBOX" with Gmail/Dublicate mails.
I'm also using a Gmail account with the Mail app, and I never encountered duplicate "INBOX" entries.
We need more details on how to reproduce the issue...

Maybe because of french Gmail folder's name for "Inbox" (Boîte de réception)?
To me, it looks like your version doesn't correctly link the french translation as the "Inbox" folder.

Confirmed, once I switched to French, "INBOX" started swarming the list. Will try to see what in the translation causes it.

EDIT: The translation issue has been found and will be filtered in next release, only French and Romanian were affected.
Meanwhile, try flashing this ZIP with TWRP (mount System partition before flashing). After that, clear app data for the Mail app (it's the only way to remove the already-made "INBOX" entries).

Btw I shouldn't be writing this as it's not kind, but the French xiaomi.eu translation is globally lousy... For example it also creates 2 folders for sent mails in IMAP accounts, one is called Sent and the other "Envoyés"

Like I said, there was a translation issue. The translator translated strings he was not supposed to translate.

In any case, we have no control over the quality of the translations, we're not speaking in all languages...

Mimail verison: V12_20200522_b4

Hello,

"syncs bug" referred to multiple "Inbox" folder creation (in fact, it was a french translation issue...). ;)

So, nothing to do with sync delay that you have.

Try to use the "locker" functionality in 'Recent apps' screen and set Gmail sync to "Push". :)

Thank you for the answer! But I do not want to play with it if it doesn't work properly.
Push is turned on of course.
Which app is recommended to use for sync email accounts?

I've got the problem that some emails will marked as advertising and therefore moved to trash folder automatically.

Can I turn this off?

Try "Outlook" app. ;)

Don't think it's something related to Email app... So I don't know. ;)
