[ROM][Official][4.4.4] CyanogenMod 11.0 Nightlies for the Xiaomi MI2 (aries)

I have been using the nightlies for a few months. All was well until last week. Now, I can't make or receive calls - the phone does dial out but no dialing noise and cannot hear the other party after the call is connected. Similarly, the incoming call rings but cannot hear the other party after the call is connected. Is anyone else experiencing this issue? I am on 20141209 nightly and i was on 20141206 nightly before that. That is when i first encountered this issue.

Any help in resolving this is appreciated.

Thanks

So, it's not my phone fault!
How to repair it?

OTA works beautifully ;)
make sure you select the correct system when the phone reboots to recovery
so if I flash this rom in sys 1 whit miui in sys2 tdb enabled, for next update i can flash via ota whithout lose miui in sys2 and tdb is still enabled? what does it means select the correct system....?

"Ok Google" only working from Google Search app, but does not working on any screen and does not working from lock screen. Any idea how to get working from any screen including lock screen?

Well the problem was mediaserver trying to read multimedia corrupted files.

Do you get the audio bug? I mean when you can't hear the other person and they can't hear you. It's related to Google play services, therefore I couldn't use any Google Apps with this rom.

That seems to be solved in the latest build

I had a fast draining phone running CM11 until recently. What I did to solve this is follow the tutorial here:

http://en.miui.com/thread-73236-1-1.html

I had some issues with /system having no free space so I used 'uninstall' from gplay to delete some system apps .

I also installed xposed as suggest. Then also go through settings>privacy>privacy protection>advanced > disable as much as possible wake up permissions for apps that shouldnt be able to wake up the phone.

Good luck!

There is also really good tutorial from our Russian friends, you can use google translate:

But can I ask is it usefull in lollipop 5.1?

Try installing xposed framework and intelli3g

I hope someone still use CM11 nightlies: I have a continueous problem with /system/bin/mediaserver taking up to 50 % CPU all the time after boot. Once I kill the process ("kill -15 PID"), things get normal again.

Logcat show a fast repeating msg (where 197 is PID of mediaserver):
Code:
D/QMI_FW ( 197): QCCI: reader_thread: wakeup_pipe[0]=10 ch=a

Once I kill mediaserver:
Code:

"ps aux | grep mediaserver" confirms the process is running again, this time it does not consume excessive CPU.

The problem exhibits for about a month and half, with various versions of CM11 nightlies. No difference if I turn "airplane mode" off or not.

I even wiped everything incl. sdcard, reflashed partition layout (and bootloader/modem/etc.) with aries_core_separated_single and re-installed clean CM11 + full gapps (per CM wiki). But no go.

Any idea?

@gonito : Hi, thnx for the link, I'll look into the module, it looks interesting.

Although I am not sure if that helps: mediaserver and media scanner seem to be related but not the same. Earlier, I have also checked ("lsof | grep mediaserv" and "lsof | grep sdcard") for processes if they get stuck on a particular directory or file, but to no avail - nothing in particular gained my attention.

At the moment, I installed mediaserver killer app and only shall see how it works in a long run. Luckily enough, the user does not use apps dependent on that process. The only issue is that if the mediaserver is not running, I cannot use MTP protocol through USB...

EDIT: a few days with mediaserver killer app proved to be a good workaround. Then, I froze it in TB and installed the Xposed module. For a week, no problems either. I do not dare to touch it to find out if it worked also w/o the module or not. Not unless the troubles start again ;-)

I haven't found a solution :(
With media server killer it's better but is not a solution.
The bug is present also on cm12?
