You guys here on the forum, though all of you are kind and trying to help, really need to stop asking people to wipe their data all the time. Why would I do that if I could rather restore my MIUI 8 backup with my data being fine and live on - living with the opinion that MIUI 9 is a big pile of garbage breaking stuff (as I never had the chance to experience something else of course...).Karm Telghi said:Try to flash china stable, fastboot rom first then flash the eu rom. Select flash all.
The point here is to eliminate conflicts and redundancies, you can use titanium back up to backup your apps, msgs, wifi access points and messages. As for the system settings, you should do those manually from scratch.
Someone just has deleted two of Karim Telghi's and one of my Posts (I guess MarkHUK as he was testing something forum specific?), but I'll answer to it anyway.

However, I was able to fix my problem once again - sadly once again without the help of the forum, as always (though, again, people here are trying to help, I really admit that!).
For the case anyone else stumbles into the same issue;
1. just use an app like Link2SD (or any other system app remover) and delete all apps with "Google" in its name (I did that to all except Google-Keyboard, which worked well for me).
2. Go to TWRP-Recovery and make a backup of your google-freed MIUI-Phone. Just to be safe.
3. Go to opengapps.org and download a package-variant you like. Make sure you enter proper informations to the filters so you download the right package for your device.
4. Back in TWRP you need to flash it.
5. Reboot your device and check if the google apps are working properly.
What I did wrong before was that I was flashing an outdated gapps-package, which seemed to be incompatible with what MIUI9 requires. Thats just a guess though as I'm not sure if MIUI9 has any dependancies to Google's Framework if it's installed.
I'm now off to check for anything *good* about MIUI 9. Had been waiting for that update long enough!
Hmm. That doesn't sound good. With what kind of problems I'll probably have to deal with? Right now it seems to work just fine. Could you point me to a better source for gapps?Gapps which downloaded from opengapps is not compatible with MIUI. It is for LineageOS and AOSP based builds...
Gapps included in xiaomi.eu builds, why are you looking for gapps?Hmm. That doesn't sound good. With what kind of problems I'll probably have to deal with? Right now it seems to work just fine. Could you point me to a better source for gapps?
Please refer to Post #1054.Gapps included in xiaomi.eu builds, why are you looking for gapps?
Please refer to Post #1054.
//Edit: As I just realized I flashed my device to only 7.9.7 I'm now doing another backup and will flash 7.9.21 after. That shouldn't be a issue as the included gapps will just overwrite the ones I had installed with opengapps, I guess? I'll check it out.
Ok Daddy just install global stable rom. You're a great man no one can compare with youWhat did I just told you ("you" as in you as a part of the community) in Post #1061?
Stop telling people to wipe their data all the time. It can't be the universal solution to all problems on earth.
Also, only me posting about that issue does not mean that issue is unique.
Why should I do that? It's still MIUI9, which is the cause of my issue. It's not the great modifications xiaomi.eu that caused it.Ok Daddy just install global stable rom. You're a great man no one can compare with you

I just flashed opengapps over again and again everything seems to work fine.
If gapps is really included with the xiaomi.eu roms, which I do not remember as I'm using xiaomi.eu roms for nearly two years now, I'd love to see a gapps-less version for less hassle somewhen in the future. IIRC TWRP is able to ask the user for options, if the zip-package is configured that way?
I'll now have to update an equal device to MIUI9 for my mother-in-law. Let's see if that update will have the same issues. Will report back.

//Edit: Okay, I'm upset again. I just patched to 7.9.21 and it's included gapps did - as expected - overwrite my opengapps. And of course my former problem is back too.
To sumarize:
- xiaomi.eu's included gapps do not work
- said to be incompatible opengapps work fine
Is there any way to fix the included gapps without wiping data?
It's like literally in my signature. Like. Literaly. What is your device? using xiaomi.eu on many xiaomi devices like rn3 & rn2 (eu dev rom, update almost every week), mi4c & mi 5s plus (eu stable rom), never had problem with gapps..
I update roms via twrp, and before reboot always clear dalvik /cache (never clean flash or never clear data).
Is what you are doing possible with the free version of titanium backup in a comfortable way? I'm not very used to using it.You are smart enough to figure it out on your own. Keep doing your trial and error method. I just don't find it worth my time to troubleshoot such issues, instead i'd just use titanium backup or some app and start from scratch.
I don't think mi mix has a pocket mode. I have mi mix and can't find it. If you know where it should be tell me please I'll check.

In that case I'm sorry as it's the fault of the mobile template of the forum. I wrote it in my signature just as you did. It's Redmi Note 2 (Prime).Could you please point that out?
I'am sure your device's name is much shorter to write compare to that 'it' s literally in my signature' words haha
I asked because I didn't see it Bro.
