[ROM][Official][4.4.4] CyanogenMod 11.0 Nightlies for the Xiaomi MI2 (aries)

After installing gapps i can see maps and gmail but the store is missing.. cant even create a google account.

Used the gapps in the first post - should I use other gapps? (mini / micro)?

Can anybody provide links for the right ones?

Thank you very much.

Your system partition is too small to fit CyanogenMod and full gapps package.
You can do two things:
1. Repartition your device
2. Flash a smaller gapps package

I did the second one, a lot easier.

Actually its better and easier first one especially if you don't use dual boot you can just allocate space from /system1 to /system partition.

To the guys who have audio issue, disable "sound on touch" and "sound on lock" in config -> sound

Hi,

@kazin08 : These settings were already disabled when I was having audio issues. So, in my case your solution didn't fix anything, the only way for the moment to fix them is disabling ok google detection.

Micha and linuxx will solve this soon or later without work around. Step by step :)

Update: Please see my next posting for findings

Hello all,

I have a big problem with CM11 release.
When making a phone call the sound via earpiece dies after some seconds and sometimes no sound at all can be heard through the earpiece. I is no hardware issue, ass gently knocking at the phone does not help to bring back the sound via earpiece.

The only short time solution is to switch to speaker mode and then switch again to the earpiece.
But sometimes the sound via earpiece is lost again.

I have the FEELING the voice is going away, when the HSDPA connection goes down.
At least the H icon disappears in the status bar.

With this the phone is not useable.

It's a Mi2. Baseband: 2.0.128017
Can someone with a Mi2 please recommend another baseband fw which is working ?

Running Nighlty 1st of Sept. 14
WIUI worked better but I did not have the time to test if it never happens with WIUI.
Baseband firmware was not changed.

With CM11 it is really horrible.
Google voice search is already disabled.

Network is Vodafone Germany.
I do not have a SIM card to test it on another network.
Please see the bug report here:
https://github.com/M1cha/android_device_xiaomi_aries/issues/60

I have the feeling that it is CM related, as at least one other bug report exists here:
https://jira.cyanogenmod.org/browse/BACON-803

Bug tracker for "hear" - (people can't hear each other):
https://jira.cyanogenmod.org/browse/BACON-803?filter=-4&jql=text ~ "hear" ORDER BY createdDate DESC

Also OnePlus One was reported over at XDA:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/oneplus-one/help/speakerphone-issue-t2845234

And this thread is talking about baseband incompatibility:
https://productforums.google.com/forum/#!topic/nexus/2eVRjUXPS-A[1-25-false]
I found this error in logcat, maybe it is related:
09-02 09:38:50.831 D/PhoneUtils(958): setAudioMode()...OFFHOOK
09-02 09:38:50.831 I/MediaFocusControl(600): AudioFocus requestAudioFocus() from AudioFocus_For_Phone_Ring_And_Calls
09-02 09:38:50.841 D/AudioHardwareInterface(199): setMode(IN_CALL)
09-02 09:38:50.851 E/AudioPolicyManagerALSA(199): unknown stream type

Greetings

Changelog not available since long time from CM updater menu. Why?

When I tap the ROM in updater menu the pup up window appears and shows never ending: "loading..."

For me it was enough to switch off sound on touch and sound playing in background became smooth.
And I don't even know where to find that okay Google. Maybe because I have gapps minimal installed

I want to give you a short update:
I flashed Radio FW 3.5.17_M9615ACEFWMAZM20128017.1_qctecmdr_20130131_015319 from http://xiaomi.eu/community/threads/radio-all-xiaomi-mi2-radio-thread.19846/ and the problem was occuring.

Now I flashed Radio FW 3.2.8_M9615ACEFWMAZM20128007.1_qctecmdr_20121217_005455 and the problem seems to be gone or at least for now it is gone. To be sure I have to test it at my workplace tomorrow if is not related to a cell issue.

So people who are experiencing any problems on Vodafone Germany network I would suggest to flash an older Radio FW.

How exactly is audio problem manifesting?

I have the phone short time and didn't make enough phone calls, but already 3 times (from <10) people complained that they can't hear me, initially I thought it is related to poor 3G signal because during a call it was fixed when changing to full 2G signal, but then it happened with full 2G or 3G signal too - people reported they hear distorted sound or that I must have terribly bad signal. It is really annoying. I'm on vodafone CZ btw.

I'm now on 3108 nightly and have no other issues, I'm especially very happy with alarm while off because of my battery last for 3 days. I was experimenting with location profile switching with Llama, but when switching off/on wifi ended too often with wireless completely unavailability, but I'm now using CM built-in profiles and I'm very happy with them (wifi always on as its event trigger, and reboot each day because of alarm, which might play a role).

For me it was:

For me the solution was to install Radio FW 3.2.8_M9615ACEFWMAZM20128007.1_qctecmdr_20121217_005455 from http://xiaomi.eu/community/threads/radio-all-xiaomi-mi2-radio-thread.19846/

Interesting that you are also using Vodafone like I do.

Maybe I'll be forced to experiment with different radio FW at the end too, but for now I'd rather avoid it. And I'm not sure if its similar issue because I always hear the other side very good. Yes, the vodafone connection is interesting, I'm actually during a preparation to switch to different provider (unrelated to to my issue) but it will take at least 2 months. Just recently I've read some article about providers networks and I just rember that telefonica is using 2G from nokia and 3G from ericsson and t-mobile the same but vice-versa (or vice-versa the operators), but don't know about vodafone equipment. Anyway if at the end I would realize that it has some role in my issue, I will share my findings here.

@Toruk

Just give it a try and flash another Radio FW.
It takes only some minutes and it is nor risky.
I should have flashed it earlier... Did waste a lot of time with following ther solutions.
