Release MIUI ROM 2.3.30 ROMS [ICS] & [GB]

Same issue here. Several apps will not install (such as Minecraft Pocket Edition, Reckless Getaway, Reckless Racing). Possibly because they want to be installed on the SD card. Titanium fails on the the very same apps.

Another bug seems to be that facebook sync is not working. Unless I am doing something wrong. When trying to set up facebook sync it just closes the dialog without any errors.

Overall though, I am very impressed. 2.3.23 was my first time with MIUI, but I went back to stock because of FC's. This however I will definitely be using as my daily driver. Just hoping this issues will be fixed quickly. Thanks for all your hard work :)

For facebook sync use free Facebook sync application from market. Facebook application is not entirely compatible with ics. Not the problem of rom

Hi!
I downloaded miui 2.3.30 and put it on the phone. Then I wiped cahce and dalvik cache. Then I started the the update process thru cwm recovery like I have been doing for ever, but this time I only could get to samsung original startup and then the screen went black?
After this I tried to format /cache, /system, /data and /sdcard. And now when I trie to install the latest miui rom i get:
"Installing update...
assert failed: getprop("ro.product.device")=="GT-I9100" || getprop("ro.build.product")=="GT-I9100" || getprop("ro.product.device") == "galaxys2" || getprop("ro.build.product") == "galaxys2"
E:Error in sdcard/miui/miuiandroid_SGS2-2.3.30.zip
(status 7)"
I had siyah kernel when I tried to install it if it helps, but I have tried many different kernels and nothing works, not even installing stock android on it :(
What should I do?

Dear,

Is it known that the lockscreen of MiUI 2.3.30 still Chinese has? When I charge the phone, it says charging (in Chinese) with the percentage, and the date above is English numbered but with Chinese symbols?

You're busy with that right?

Maybe a corrupt download? Did you check md5?

Miui is fantastic. Most stable rom I have found in months. One question : Is an ICS version being looked at for the HD2 as they are available on XDA but they are not stable and MIUI rocks.

What I did for the SGS2 was:

Just download the older version MiUI 2.3.23. Put on the internal SD. Go to recovery CWM.
- Wipe cache / - wipe dalvik cache / - factory reset / - format /system (mount and storage)

Then installed the MiUI 2.3.23 rom. The first time he won't came further then the Boot, let it be for 5 minutes. After 5 minutes turned SGS2 off. Wait for a couple of seconds and just restart normal, hold the power button. Hold power button again to start, you see the boot again, and yes, it came further and was installing the application.

After that, to install 2.3.30, just wipe cache and wipe dalvik cache, let it flash and you're done.

hahaha, you have to use the fixed miui v4 lockscreen posted in the past.

i had the same problem with my SGS II last night, what i did was i flashed the stock ics os and rooted it and then reinstallaed MIUI 2.3.30 and it worked like a dream.
so i suggest you flash a stock os using ODIN and then flash MIUI thru CWM.

BLN is probably a bug, English lockscreen fix here: http://miuiandroid.com/community/threads/miui-v4-new-lockscreen-theme-updated-2-3-18.15671/

Thanks,

if u are coming from another rom other than MIUI you need to wipe data as well, if not just the dalvik and cache

Since there isnt any changelog for the GB version , is it safe to assume that there are hardly any changes worth noting?

Hello Guys,

thanks for the great ROM. I am now running 2.3.30 on my SGS2. so far it's good but at least I got FC when i check the phone status: settings -> about phone -> status. here is the summary:

Code:
app_vercode:15
device_model:GT-I9100
build_version:2.3.30
condition:1

additionally I want to ask how to disable the Torch when the screen is locked, as we know now if we press the home button from the lock screen the Torch (Flash) will turn on. it's great feature actually especially during emergency. but sometimes if I put the phone on my pocket and home button accidentally pressed and the Flash is turn on for long time without I am being realized until I felt that my phone is very hot in my pocket.

Thank you in for your great work.

Thanks for the report, the FC is being looked into. The Torch can be switched off in the toggles menu I believe.

Hi Mark,

I know we can toggling (on/off) the Torch from toggles menu. what I mean is how to disable the feature of torch while screen is locked to avoid the situation that home button accidentally pressed for long time (e.g. when you put it on tight pocket of your denim). it would be nice if this configurable in the setting menu. it's just humble request from my daily experience with the phone. but it's up to you the developer to whether to put it or not in your priority.

thanks anyway.

Hi Mark

I've had to re-install this ROM three times and am now back to GB. The ROM installed ok, but upon rebooting the phone it stays stuck at the MIUI logo. I've wiped all the caches and the phone doesn't turn on. I've then re-installed the ROM after wiping all the caches etc and it works fine until the next re-boot. So I've now reverted back to GB. Can you help me out please?

p.s. just to add to the previous post, would you recommend that I wipe all the storage as well? (mem card) to resolve these issues?

Thks for 9Lukas5, mrbean, Dray, on commens and advice.

What you guys say, about using recovery, formatting, removing external_sd, MD5's, re-downloads and flashing stock ICS has all been tried in different combinations and order. Did bout 20 flashes last night. I played around 'til 6 am just to get this ROM working but nothing simply helps. No matter what preparations I do and what ROM or kernel is in the system to flash on top of... Always fail to either install or boot. Bootloop is closest I can get, but when it happens it won't let me into recovery. Flashing CF-Root with odin is a quick fix and only fix to make the phone functional again.. Once CF-Root is put in with Odin all other ROM's are sucked in and working.

Read that other users (Bjorn Olaf, svenkramer) had same issues so it's not just me doign something wrong all the time. Mine just seems to be a hard one.
