Whatsapp's text formatting options via highlight

Hello,

Whatsapp has the ability to put bold, italicise, and strikethrough text. All you need to do is higlight the text you want to format before you send it, and the menu will show you the different options next to the Cut, Copy, Paste, Send options. However, it doesn't seem to be available on my MI MIX 2S with XIAOMI.EU

Is it possible that this functionality is enabled?

There seems to be no way to highlight and format with Xiaomi redmi 5 plus. It can only be dinner the old way, using *_~
