Maybe with MIUI... that's the problem and the main reason why I don't use it. I am using CM 10 and the battery lasts 2-3(and yes, that includes Wifi, mobile data and all the other crap I don't turn off) days when you use the phone, how long it lasts without usage I don't know because I always use it.
Of course i-9300 is a dual boot phone, and because HDMI out isn't working on CM (yet) and I am an android developer, which means I have to present ny apps freqently, I need another ROM. I used the stock ROM as 2nd, all works well, normal usage... 10% over night keeping wifi and blinkin LED because emails... then I just got bored of it and installed MIUI.
Result?
additional 0.72€ on my phone bill beacuse apperently MIUI sent an international SMS to China - Wtf are you thinking?
43% battery usage for the same thing... also Wtf?

You can think of the final result was throwing MIUI off my device

I installed latest rom using ext4 recovery and followed the instructions in this video.
ww.youtube.com/watch?v=ePOH2wJD2kw

after installing rom, I did not boot, one step back and on the ext4 menu, I choose install from zip and gapps-jb-20121011_MIUI
now I can not see google play, any advice how can I install google apps

thank you for your reply in advance

did you format system as well? in 4ext recovery control tick box which will wipe system/lib as well and then format system, wipe cache + dalvik , flash rom + gapps ( make sure gapps are correct ics @ jb ) and then wipe cache + dalvik again and then reboot phone. try it then.
at least for me its working.

I reinstalled rom using cwm

in order to install gapps, on MAGLDR menu, I chose 8 (AD recovery) and then install from sdcard and chose gapps, it seems to be installed but I see no ikon, no google appps on the screen. Obviously I did something wrong.

how can I install gapps?

By the way, this is the gapps I have gapps-jb-20121011_MIUI

I'm a big fan of MIUI, but this new release for HTC Desire Z is just too sluggish. I hope that gets fixed...or maybe my phone is just too old and slow already :(

no.. set internet APN for internet with settings from your carrier...

Im new to MIUI, so im not sure if I need to Install the rom first for the Galaxy s3 internatioinal version, and then install the GApps, after i have installed it? Or can I not install the GApps at all?

I do it like other roms, wipe data, wipe cache, wipe dalvik, install rom, install gaaps then reboot and enjoy.

Just to be safe and avoid potential issues with Google Apps (which doesn't happen to everyone, but it happens often enough to be annoying): ...install ROM, reboot, install GAaps... :)

Edit: Speaking of GApps, I have a random question.. I noticed the GApps for 3.1.11 is different to the versions linked previously for 2.12.28/29.

2.12.28/29: gapps-ics-20120429-signed.zip (49.64mb)
3.1.11: gapps-ics-20120429-MIUI.zip (36.96mb)

So.. Same release version (20120429), but what's so special about the MIUI one that makes it more than 10mb smaller?

Thanks, I managed to instal MIUI, but the home button doesn't work on the Samsung Galaxy S3, does evyerone have that problem?

Thanks. Got it to work by myself. Seems like its not a good idea to flash the rom and gapps on the same go. I had to flash the rom, boot the phone, set it up, the go to recovery again, flash gapps, and boot again, now everything is working fine.

I solved my issue with no lockscreen etc. I flashed miui without flashing gapps, booted into miui and went through setup and then rebooted into recovery and installed gapps. Now everything works.

Maybe somebody could put a clear note in the OP regarding this...? It seems too many people try flashing mods and extras to MIUI before giving a new install time to do it's first boot and finish setting itself up first. Pretty sure a clear note above the GApps download links would save many people a few headaches. ;)
