Hey guys.
I recently started work A LOT in linux and came across a few posts about xiaomi's xml sources released on github.

I'd like to translate the apks/images and was wondering if someone could post a mini-guide on how it works and how to set up a "translation environment" so i can get started. I'm pretty new to github and linux, but i'd like to learn how to translate this way, instead of the entire deodex-decompile-edit-recompile process :)

Thanks :D
Oh, sorry if i posted the wrong place :/

Sorry for being dumb here. But that guide doesn't say anything about github? And isn't that guide going through the whole decompile process, the exact process i thought was unnecessary now, due to the xmls being on github? And i can't seem to find those build scripts you mention..

Btw, i translated a lot in the past - by the "old" method, so just thought this was interesting if i could get it set up properly. Would save a lot of time :)

XMLs on github don't help as much as we planned. apktool once rebuilding, has to use its previously decompiled XMLs. Random things like xlif data and others cannot be read by apktool, so the raw form we cannot use currently until a fixed apktool is released.

Hmm, that's too bad :/ Guess i'm back to decompiling/recompiling the whole thing.. Oh well, no biggie, at least i know how that works :)
